Growing ad agency offers full capabilities in-house

WICHITA, Kan. (May 26, 2008) — Jajo Inc. has hired Andy McGinnis, APR, as public relations director and Jason Townsend as web developer. With the addition of a full-time, senior public relations professional, Jajo now offers full-service agency capabilities within its walls at the Orpheum Theatre Office Building.

“Traditional media has evolved,” said Steve Randa, Jajo managing partner. “The way people get their news, look for information, communicate and even share family photos has changed. Advertising agencies ourselves must evolve or risk becoming irrelevant.”

“We are an agency that wants to keep moving forward, keep providing the best ideas, strategy, creative and results to our clients,” continued Randa. “And to do that right, we needed add to the solid foundation we had built in our first five years. With the addition of Jason and Andy, we now an even more robust team in place.”

Jason Townsend is a self-taught web developer who started toying around with the Internet in early high school. Hired by Choice Solutions at only age 16, Townsend became a junior web developer. After graduation from high school, he became a full-time web developer. Five years later, he moved to Arquan where he was the primary developer. And in a burst of entrepreneurial spirit, in 2007 Townsend started his own company Black Sandal LLC. Townsend remained in business for himself until joining Jajo.

When not developing Web projects, Townsend spends his time in automechanics, videogaming, electronic music, reading and contemporary philosophy. Townsend is a freedom and liberty activist, so the political debates at Jajo have livened up considerably since he joined the agency.

Andy McGinnis, APR is responsible for growing the public relations practice at Jajo. As public relations director, she is tasked with joining traditional public relations and progressive social marketing to create successful media relations, community outreach and other internal and external communications initiatives.

With more than 17 years experience in strategic marketing and branding communications, McGinnis has led award-winning public relations campaigns that consistently brought measurable results. Her portfolio includes extensive B2B and B2C work for Cargill, Sprint, H&R Block, Caterpillar, John Deere and PGA TOUR. Andy is an alumna of Boston University where she studied Political Science and Journalism and watched much too much hockey. She is a member of National Federation of Press Women, Kansas Professional Communicators, Wichita Professional Communicators and is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She currently serves as immediate-past president and advocacy chair of the Kansas Chapter of PRSA.

A devoted NPR listener, public television viewer and former debater, she’s keen on politics and current events — perfect for her choice of profession. Married to a marketing executive, she spends entirely too much time thinking about, reading about and talking about marketing, advertising and public relations. She is a so-so golfer, hopeful mixologist and accomplished antique dealer. And avid diner, Andy is a confirmed foodie and an aspiring chef. Aspiring is the keyword. Just ask her five-year-old son.
